Benchmark 5K Run

Location: Wandsworth Park, London

Running Structure: 1K Warm Up Jog, 5K Speed Run, 1K Cool Down Jog

Mood: Feeling Tired after 6 days training

NO RUN IS AN EASY RUN BUT KEEP POSITIVE ATTITUDE CAN BE EASY.

Last day of the week before my one day break. I was already to give it all I have today. Weather was a bless. It is cold but dry and sunny. It is actually very warm in the sun.

After pushing for 2K, my body start feeing fatigue. My breath has become irregular. I have also noticed my body posture has become a bit lazy. This is the wall. We all have the wall (hump) during our run. DO NOT GIVE UP at that point. Reset your attitude and focus on what matters. Breathing and body posture is always the key. All running coaches would say the same thing when you are facing the wall during your runs.

The result today wasn’t what I expected but this isn’t the worst. I have noticed the consistency on my running speed for 5K so I have a target and goal. Having chat with team mate Arran, it seems that I should really use some sports gel before my run. I can certainly give it a try for my next bench mark run.
