Soar Running - Elite Marathon System

Soar Running, founded by Tim Soar in 2015— elite-level engineered running wear for all level of runners. Despite the running community being dominated by a handful of brands, Soar Running stands out as an exciting alternative for any runner. We feel it should be on every runners radar for this upcoming marathon training season.

Tim Soar knew what he wanted the brand to be from the very start. With a background in fashion and a modernist designer, Tim aimed for apparel with form following function. Being a keen runner himself, this helped shape the ethos of Soar Running. With the belief of being able to truly understand the intention of a garment, focussing on that and nothing else, and alongside a tonne of running of course - this shapes Soar Running’s collections.

The Elite Marathon shorts really seem like the perfect piece of kit to help a runner tackle 26.2 miles. Preparing for a long run, more often than not, I often find myself stuffing gels into pouches purposed for keys. Whereas with these shorts they are really catered for every runner - sporting ample storage to accommodate multiple mid run essentials. Combining a rear cargo pocket, zipped inner pocket and front loops to store up to 6 gels (or multiple Jelly Baby’s if you’re not into gels).

It’s not just the function of the shorts that has been well considered but also the construction. The shorts are constructed from ultra-lightweight French-made fabric, with the idea of them feeling so light you’ll barley know you’re wearing them at all. Offering the perfect balance between clever storage, ultimate performance and avoiding looking like Batman’s utility belt.

The Elite Race Vest focuses on the ergonomics of running to help eliminate any runners fear of chafing. Designed to wick sweat away from the body, this minimal yet bold vest comes in 3 striking colour options. Or for a more monochrome option, you can opt for the Elite Marathon System option in black (a bundle consisting of the Marathon Shorts and Elite Race Vest).

Another independent brand worth taking note of, and changing the running scene, is Satisfy Running. Check our article exploring their latest collection.
