I am not a fast runner but it is okay. At the end of 2020, I have made a promise that I will be working towards small goals with achievable measurement.

When I started running back in 2019, I just know to run fast and fast is all I cared. That wasn’t a good mentality to have. Running isn’t just a sprint, it needs time and structured training.

My best time trail for 5K (before these structure training) was 22:03. That was back in August 2020. During that time, I only knew run faster and run longer. My training wasn’t tailored to endurance, but more on explosiveness.

These were all changed at the beginning of this year. I listened to my body, I start doing more warm-ups and after-run stretches before and after my run. This has helped me to reduce fatigue on my muscles. I have also doing more strength workout for my upper and lower body, along with core muscle training. This gives me more stabilities and power to run.

Overall, I will continue this routine and we shall see the result of my 5K trials in April.

If you would like to see my result of my run, I will post it in our forum.
