What is Takumi Sen? - Adizero Latest Update

Takumi Sen is a Japanese phrase roughly means “artisan of the highest order”. In February 2013, Adidas debut their latest edition to AdiZero range. On the insole, it has a Japanese character of “戰”.

The Takumi Sen series has been equipped with the premium materials and the intention is to be a flat running shoe. Being light and great traction with a strong grip is the key character. Keeping minimal throughout all the entire series from design to material. The shoe was aimed for runners who can pick up and do a quick run from 400m, as well as people who would like to do a half marathon.

Takumi Sen 1 & 2 used Adiprene+ for midsole. Boost technology wasn’t introduced to the shoe until 3 in 2015. The main change for Takumi Sen 4 was the primeknit upper.

Until now, Takumi Sen probably had the most face lift with the most midsole stack. Midsole has been replaced with Adidas latest cushion technology - Lightstrike Pro. The torsion system has been replaced with carbon-fusion EnergyRod. Upper is made of 50% recycling material.
